The Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival 2024 in Ottawa, Canada, is a vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture and heritage, taking place from June 21 to June 23 at Mādahòkì Farm. This year’s festival promises an array of captivating events including live music performances, educational workshops, and cultural activities that honor Indigenous traditions and customs. Day-by-Day Breakdown of the 2024 Program:
 
June 19: Education Day at the Canadian Museum of History, where teachers, students, and homeschool groups can enjoy complimentary Indigenous programming.
 
June 21: National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration, starting with a Traditional Welcome Ceremony, followed by performances by the World Hoop Dance Champion and Métis dancers, Sunsdram Inuit throat singers, and more. The day kicks off at 1 pm and concludes at about 10pm (do not miss the Glow in the Dark Pow Wow featuring DJ Shub).
 
June 22: The vibrant Competition Pow Wow continues, showcasing drummers and dancers across North America competing for over $75,000 in prizes. The day features traditional Inuit games and more live performances from 10:30 am up to 7:30 pm.
 
June 23: For those who missed previous activities, the festival continues with a final day of cultural experiences from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
