Responsibilities

Tasks

Business Execution

• Partner with Sales and Presales team members in identifying and scoping

opportunities.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across Service Delivery teams, delivering

on customer business outcomes with high quality and satisfaction.

• Attend RFP Go/No-Go meetings when services are specified. Provide technical

commentary and opinion to allow the team to come to a consensus decision.

• Statement of Work, Tech and Field Assist, and other documentation creation, often

directly, other times in conjunction with other team members.

• Contribute to RFP responses where expertise is applicable or work to identify the

necessary technical resources to support the response.

• Provide support to pre-sales engineers on opportunities when subject matter expertise

is required.

• Work across Charter to develop and implement best practices required to efficiently

deliver quality solutions in a repeatable fashion. This includes, but not necessarily

limited to:

o Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

o Design reference practices

o Templates – configuration, test plans, migration plans etc.

o Design As-Build documentation

o Gather Info templates to allow more effective pre-sales engagements.

o Customer play/run books.

• Understand and adopt applicable performance metrics, such as billable utilization

targets, and strive to align the team to meet or exceed business goals and objectives

set by management.

• Collaborate with the Service Delivery Leadership team to help identify gaps,

challenges and issues/problems that add risk to Charter and our customers. Carry out

any/all identified activities within the team in alignment with management directives.

Technical Delivery

• Lead Delivery engagements as a ‘Technical Prime’ within projects of varying size,

complexities and across multiple vendor and technology platforms

• Be a Subject Matter Expert within the Charter community on specific technologies and solutions, bringing expertise within the broader technical teams and adjacent

business units.

• Support the Charter Sales community, helping to develop new opportunities with

customers by bringing technology experience and leadership to pre-sales meetings,

services specification, and the writing of Statements of Work and other

documents/artifacts.

• Contribute to RFP responses when relevant to your subject matter expertise, including

Go/No-Go discussions/decisions, technical writing, and services estimates/specification.

 

Team/People Engagement

• Promote a team environment which aligns with overall Charter’s strategic framework.

• Contribute to development of technical team members.

o Act as a technical coach to assist in growth, performance, and fulfillment,

helping to ensure that personal goals are in close alignment with Charter

needs.

o Participate in mid-year and year-end reviews of technical team members.

o Educate the Delivery teams on emerging technologies and capabilities.

o Conduct cross team technical training.

o Lead new solution implementation, document and training of other team

members.

• Provide guidance to the various Sales Engineers who may be aligned to customers

that fall within the assigned market segment or Delivery Business Units.

• Attend team planning meetings associated to the work assigned. Provide support to

the Project Managers and the other technical team members.

• Attend project status meetings (internal or external) with focus on the customer,

ensuring proper tracking against budget and schedule.

• Adopt, document and leverage tools and defined processes, setting a high standard

and example for others to follow.

• Promote technical growth within the team by identifying shadowing opportunities

between peers, attending partner-led workshops and courses, and striving to obtain

certifications that are in line with Charter needs.

• Assist in onboarding new team members, collaborating with People and Culture and

management to offer training on tools, processes and key techniques that lead to

success.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and end

customers.
