The 29-year-old Male client with severe autism, epileptic as well as other medical issues. The client resides in the family home, along with his mother, sister and family pets (2 cats, 2 dogs).

This position will be the easiest and the hardest job you will ever do. There are no set daily schedules as it is based on the clients needs for the day. The client is non-violent and very easy to look after. He will “entertain” himself and is allowed to “wander” throughout the main level of the home as he wishes. The home environment is very relaxed and quiet. During any seizures, it will be “all hands-on deck”. His seizures can be very taxing and an emotional strain on everyone.

**Client’s mother needs to be informed of shift activities and any concerns that arise during shifts.**

** Communicate to either client’s mother or to staff supervisor if you have any questions and or concerns**

Work Hours Required:

Sunday -Tuesday 7 hour evening shift (5:30 pm – 12:30 am) and Wednesday and Thursday will be 12 hour shift Evenings and nights.(7:30 pm to 7:30 am)

During these shifts the following will be required:

– Administer medications, UNDER SUPERVISION

– Administer personal care,

– Launder clothing and sheets,

– Feed or assist in feeding and preparing snacks and drinks

– Provide companionship,

– Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties,

– Monitor for seizure activity and be able to know when to call 911.

** The ability to recognize a seizure and treat is a MUST.

**MUST know about severe autism as well as brain damage**

**PPE masks available as well as hand sanitizer and gloves at appropriate size.

**MUST BE ABLE TO READ BODY LANGUAGE**

**ALL TRAINING WILL BE PAID TRAINING. TRAINING WILL CONSIST OF 2 WEEKS FOR EVENINGS AND NIGHTS**

PERSONAL CARE DUTIES :

-All diapers changes as needed ( both voiding and bowel movements) including washing and the use of diaper cream if needed.

– Bathing: washing hair and body, brushing teeth, check clients ears and clean if needed, shaving daily on every evening shift. Nail and foot care (nails) done on a weekly basis.

– Washing hands and face as needed

– Clothing and bedding changes are needed frequently.

– Feeding supper and evening snacks as well as giving fluids throughout the shift

– Be able to communicate (both verbally and through body language) to the client through every step of care.

** IF THE CLIENT SEIZURES, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CLEAN UP THE CLIENT, BEDDING AND SURROUNDING AREA IMMEDIATELY (THE CLIENT WILL VOMIT NUMEROUS TIMES , VOID AND WILL HAVE LOOSE BOWEL MOVEMENTS)**

LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

– Clients room will be swept and washed nightly,

– bathroom cleaned,

– clients laundry (washed, dried, and put away),

– living room and kitchen floors swept and washed if needed,

– kitchen counters washed and tidied,

– clients furniture covering washed as needed
