-Preparation of preliminary ingredients in advance of service schedules
-Preparing the mise en place for the line cooking area
-Working on the kitchen line and preparing dishes for an a la carte menu
-Checking dishes that are leaving the kitchen, to make sure that they meet presentation and temperature requirements
-Training and instructing apprentices and kitchen helpers in the preparation of the restaurant menu
-Monitoring inventory and ordering items that need to be replenished, ensuring that the inventory is rotated appropriately
-Cleaning and sanitizing
