Isidore Landscapes operates a primary agricultural business specializing in the production of cut flowers and ornamental plants in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Our farm includes a greenhouse and outdoor floriculture production.

Farm Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Farm Supervisor to support our expanding floriculture and nursery operations. This role is responsible for supervising daily farm activities, coordinating workers, and ensuring proper crop growth, quality control, and farm safety procedures are followed.

This is a hands-on supervisory position in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

 

Candidates in this role are expected to:

Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Have a post-secondary education in horticulture or equivalent experience
Have 1–2 years of experience in horticulture, gardening, or farm work
Be physically capable of performing farm-related tasks
Be able to communicate orally and in writing in English
Work effectively in a team environment
Follow farm safety and bio-security procedures
Work on-site in a rural agricultural setting

 

Typical tasks include:

Planning and supervising daily farm operations and crop-related activities
Considering water saturation, light, temperature, and soil conditions when planning crop growth and development
Coordinating and supervising the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers (3–4 people)
Implementing and maintaining soil fertility programs
Maintaining work record and logs
Mixing and applying fertilizers
Performing and supervising greenhouse cleaning and general farm maintenance
Managing weed control and assisting with pest prevention
Maintaining financial and work records
Assisting in the development and enforcement of farm safety and bio-security procedures
Ensuring all farm safety standards are followed
Providing agricultural crop services such as planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting

Maintaining quality control and production records.

A combination of standing, walking, lifting, and bending
Tight production timelines due to a large workload during peak seasons
Attention to detail

 

Work details:

Position type: Full-time
Hours: 50 hours per week (schedule may vary based on season and weather)
Wage: $32.00 per hour
Location: Surrey / Richmond, BC
Housing: On-site housing options available
